I miss you doesn’t begin to describe how I feel
when you are not by my side.
I shall do better than that.
Your absence burns to the depths of my soul
leaving an empty black pit
void of light and warmth.
I love you seems like too shallow of a phrase to explain
how my heart yearns for you.
The romantic poet in me needs to say it better.
Your presence takes me to a level of unimaginable depths
and your energy radiates through my body as our souls intertwine
as if they were predestined from galaxies long ago.
I need you is both stale and over played.
It lacks luster sounding like a greeting card written by A.I.
My soul craves your presence yearning and grasping
for you like gasping for its last breath.
You nourish me.
You set me ablaze.
You make it safe to bloom out loud.
My world expands with every breath you take.
Wrapped in your arms is the safest place I’ve ever been.
