Featured Poem: Winter Solstice (Dodoitsu)

winter solstice arriving

shortest day and longest night

silent trees gather forces

for returning light

lighter, longer, brighter days

saunter through the winter gloom

light triumphs over darkness

renewal awaits

I especially like the line “silent trees gather forces” – I never thought of them that way, rather that they seemed just trying to survive. I really like the idea of looking at winter trees the way you present them here – which could extend to people, too.

Thank you, Sara, for this softly uplifting poem, reminding us that LIGHT will return!
