Featured Art: Ben Yehuda

Outdoor scene of pedestrians on a street with a mall

“Ben Yehuda” by Rosemary Fineberg, Fort Lauderdale Branch
Acrylic on wood, 20 x 24

Artist’s Statement:

Although it is December on Ben Yehuda, despite the crisp, cool air, the pedestrian mall is glowing with lights, music, and the aroma of mid-Eastern spices and cappuccino. Old architecture, funky art, and people of all ages are my visuals. I hear the ancient biblical language revived. The creation of “Ben Yehuda” came with ease — painted on a recycled piece of wood over another painting. The result was a keeper!

The design and colors, the shadows and shapes all work together to depict a lively light-filled scene – very pleasing!
