Featured Poem: Kintsugi*

Mended in the broken places

With golden glue,

So you embrace

The pain and missing faces

And make a work of art

Out of you shattered heart.

*Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pieces.

  1. Karen Morris says:

An eloquent, moving poem, appealing to artists and to all of us who have lost loved ones, in other words, to everyone.

  2. Claire Massey says:

The holidays are times when we miss loved ones who are gone most acutely.
This poem expresses beautifully how creativity can comfort and act as a salve.

  3. Barbara Dunham says:

The art of kintsugi is beautiful as is your poem. That “golden glue” of resolve, strength, love & dignity that helps us grieve and recover. Thank you for your lovely words.
