Featured Poem: Progress

By Patricia Daly-Lipe
Jacksonville Branch, Florida

Progress is being made

All over the world.

So-called progress named technology.

But there is another avenue of progress

Being made all over the world:

The progress of creativity.

It cannot be ignored.

For creative endeavor has a spiritual side.

Nor can it be said in reverse:

Creative work results from technology.

No. Au contraire

Inspiration is the source

Its roots are not nebulous

As they first appear.

Genuine creative imagination

Comes from a much deeper place

The heart.

wonderful expression of your own creativity and inspirations.
When we create from the heart, it rings true and touches others as well.

JUST A GREAT UNRHYMED POEM. SET UP JUST PERFECTLY AND ITS ALL SO TRUE – YOUR WORDS.
    GREAT JOB.

This poem strikes me as the perfect complement to the article in the current issue of The Pen Woman, titled “Is There a Role for AI in Creativity?”.
Will there come a day when we cannot discern whether or not a creative work originated with a machine or the human heart? Scary thoughts…
