How can I book my room at the Darcy?
You can reserve your room by following the hotel registration link or go directly to The Darcy Hotel and enter the group code NLAPWMEET26 at checkout. Pen Women have found that sharing rooms cuts your cost in half and often forges lifelong friendships. We have a limited block of rooms, so we encourage you to make your reservations right away.
When should I arrive for the full experience?
We have planned three full days of activities Friday through Sunday. Most Pen Women will arrive Thursday and leave Monday morning; plan what works for you.
Can I come a day early or leave a day late to explore D.C.?
Yes. We encourage you to do this! If rooms are available, you may ask for up to 3 days pre and post the Biennial to tour the city. Washington, D.C. is lovely at the end of April. The Darcy is located just a few blocks from Pen Arts.
How do I make a reservation to go on the Saturday evening bus tour of D.C.?
You can sign up for the 4-hour bus tour when you register for the Biennial. The price is $45 and includes a box supper, plus a champagne toast. The bus tour is limited to 50 women, so sign up early. If you have questions about the bus tour, email Janine DeBaise at credentials4letters@nlapw.org
What if I have dietary restrictions, or mobility issues, or any other special needs?
Please send a note to Susan Zerweck, registration@ nlapw.org, so we can add that information to our spreadsheet and plan accordingly. All meals will include vegetarian options.
What kind of clothing should I bring?
Some women dress up (especially for the Vinnie Ream banquet) and other women wear casual dress. Be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes, so you can explore the neighborhood.
Is parking available at The Darcy?
Overnight valet parking is available for $60 per night, including in-and-out privileges. Day event parking is available for $25 (with no overnight parking permitted).
What’s the hashtag for the biennial?
What is a hashtag? A hashtag is a word or phrase preceded by the symbol # that is used on social media such as Facebook or Instagram that helps other interested users find content. So if you post a photo on social media, just add #PenWomen2026 and anyone who searches #PenWomen2026 will find it.
