Featured Poem: Dare To

By Carol H Ehrlich
Denver Branch

Sing when the world is sorry
play when the worries crowd in
jump when the rewards are over our heads
clap when our efforts keep coming
hoot when the naysayers yell the loudest
dance even when the music stops
breathe when the air grows thin
speak your mind when your thought is needed
live while the chance continues
and never forget the wonder and joy
even the pain
from all those years
that made you
who you are.

This is the most wonderful poem possibly ever written for today. I am going to read it at my sons memorial with credit to Carol.

  2. Claire A. Massey says:

I like the imperative energy of the verbs in this poem, reminding us never to retreat, to speak our minds and hearts.

This poem resonated with me. As I age, the knowledge of days I am here are diminishing and it’s important to remind us fellow pilgrims to value each day.
