Biennial 2026 — Call for Proposals

2026 NLAPW Biennial in Washington DC

April 23-26 

Pen Women! We are requesting proposals for a 60-minute or 90-minute concurrent sessions for the 2026 Biennial. We invite you to consider sessions that cross disciplines and genres. We would love to see presentations that involve members from more than one branch. We prefer sessions that involve more than one presenter.

The sessions can be:

  • Workshop: Our workshops are usually hands-on and interactive, getting members involved in activities, or watching demonstrations with questions and answers. For generative workshops, we do have some 90-minute time slots.
  • Panel: Several Pen Women can team up for a presentation. Usually 60 minutes.
  • Roundtable discussion: Gather some Pen Women to each talk briefly on a topic, then expand the discussion to include all the women in the room. Usually 60 minutes.
  • Hybrid: Surprise us with a session that borrows from more than one format.

To submit, send us a single PDF that includes the following information:

1. Contact person

2. Chair/timekeeper for session

3. For each presenter (including the chair and contact person):

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Branch
  • Short bio (under 75 words)

4. Title of session

5. Type of session (workshop, panel, roundtable, or hybrid)

6. One-paragraph session description

7. Technology needs

8. Time required: (60 or 90 minutes)
