Featured Poem: The Butterfly Effect

By Debora G. De Farias

Have you ever fallen in love

with the Impossible?

Have you ever been lost

in the vast immensity of a look

that is able to reach the Soul?

Have you ever tried to find the words

for something beyond the Logic, the Unexplainable?

Have you ever truly thought about The Butterfly Effect,

The dimensions of the facts

that suddenly surround you,

Wrapping you in thousands of colorful explosions?

Emotions.

Feelings.

Thoughts.

Intuitions.

Each one a ripple,

a Wingbeat in your chest,

Whispering—not loudly, but endlessly—

that You are Loved

by Something greater than mere Chance.

Beautiful thoughts here, the vast immensity of a look, wingbeats of hearts–I love it!

  2. Karen Morris says:

This poem affirms that to be attuned and open to the forces of wonder all around us is a gift to be noticed and appreciated. The use of the word “dimension” in a central position is excellent.

  3. Claire Massey says:

I like to think about “the dimensions” of the miracles that surround me when I sit among the butterflies feeding on the milkweed in my yard. Soon they will undertake incredible, cross-ocean journeys. Lovely, uplifting poem!
