Featured Poem: A Cent’ry from Now

By Inger McPhail

A cent’ry from now
It will not matter
What kind of car I drove
What kind of house I lived in,
How much money was in my bank account
Nor how I was clothed.
A cent’ry from now it won’t matter where I went to school
Or what my denomination or home church was.
A cent’ry from now, when the world should be a better place because
I helped someone while traveling through this life
Stopping ev’ry now and again to say
“hello my friend” and “how may I help you?”
That I was important in the life of God’s child
Will be the only thing that matters a cent’ry from now.

Well said. When it is all said and done, our purpose is what remains. How we touched the world and others.

So true! People are more important than things.

“Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

Thank you for sharing your insights!

Great food for thought! You are right a century from now all our stuff will be forgotten. People are important!!!!

Thank you for reminding us of what really matters.
