Featured Poem: Anatta: The Key to Creativity

By Patricia Daly-Lipe

Sound and light,

Flashes from the dark

Penetrating the woods and streams within my shell

As I lose the wall, my body, and succumb to the rays of light

And the rhythm of chords, shaking, quickening my nerves

To lose oneself – myself –

To feel, to become,

To emerge, to grow and blend,

To breathe and be,

Without form, without parameters

Self-less.

  1. Andrea says:

You’ve expressed the concept of change vividly in Anatta. The stormy woodsy setting makes me feel alive. Nicely done.

  2. Patricia, your poem is great. The creativity and the letting go I experience when I paint feels very much like what you poetically described! Bravo!

Patricia: This so conveys the energizing effect of letting yourself go in creating. I’m grinning here at my laptop, gray skies sailing past, osprey diving for breakfast, and the swirling memories of my recent hike around Ullapool, Scotland’s fishing harbor. Life is great. Thanks for sharing.
