Evelyn B. Wofford, Ed.D.

A member of NLAPW Delta Branch for 30 years, Evelyn Wofford has held numerous offices including branch and state president. She has been national treasurer since 2014. Wofford is a 48-year career educator, and her doctorate of education required numerous courses in leadership, personnel and institutional management, school finance, and school law.



Sheila M. Byrnes
First Vice President

Sheila M. Byrnes is a widely respected genealogist, freelance writer, lecturer, and artist. She has been published in several national magazines and currently writes the Central New York Genealogical Society E-News. Her work is included in “Hopeful, Grateful, Strong,” an anthology by cancer survivors in Onondaga County. Byrnes serves as the national second vice president and historian.



Lorna Jean Hagstrom
Second Vice President

As a journalist, Lorna Jean Hagstrom wrote for two newspapers in Florida and three of her books on genealogy are in the Library of Congress. A 37-year member, she has been vice president and corresponding secretary of her branch (now disbanded); Florida State Association treasurer; and national recording secretary, treasurer, and first and second vice president.



Bev Goldie
Third Vice President

Bev Goldie lives in Dublin, Ohio, and has been an art member since 2011. She’s been past president of the Central Ohio Branch and is national membership development chair. She enjoyed being a board member and looks forward to helping NLAPW reach its potential through financial stability.



Robin Johnson Moscati
Fourth Vice President

A letters member since 2010, Robin Moscati is a native of Alexandria, Virginia. She recently retired and relocated to Williamsburg. The Rev. Moscati served as national chaplain in 2010-2012. Holding the offices of vice president, treasurer, and membership chair for her local branch, she is enthusiastic about how she can serve as the 4th vice president on the national level.


Laura Walth
Fifth Vice President

Laura Walth is the 49th Biennial chair; national outreach chair; and Des Moines Branch president and membership chair. She feels that connecting members with the national office is as important as programs. A professional speaker, Walth has a master’s in library science degree from Pratt Institute and has been a public librarian for more than 30 years.


Mary Patricia Canes
Recording Secretary

Mary Pat Canes is a lifetime member who lives in Northern Virginia and is inspired by other outstanding members. Presently the recording secretary, she is dedicated to providing minutes and ensuring  board members provide news of their completed actions so that all members are up to date on the developments.


Barbara Nunes

Barbara Nunes, an active letters member of the Alexandria Branch since 1986, has served her branch as president and treasurer. She has been the national recording secretary, the third vice president, and the ethics chair.


Marge Dodge
Ethics Chair

Since 2002, Marge Dodge has served as Palm Springs Branch corresponding secretary, vice president of programs, and treasurer, and is currently president. She was the 2010-’12 Southern California State Association president and is national ethics chair for 2016-’18. Retired from a 30-year career with IBM, she now serves on the boards of four local nonprofits.
