Annual 2008 Music Competition
Come one, come all! Pen Women, prepare for our Annual 2008 Music Competition. Full coverage for entry forms and requirements will be in the Fall issue of The Pen Woman. Categories:
1. Vocal Solo or Duets
2. Choral Works
3. Piano or Keyboard Solos, Duets, or Two-Piano Works
4. Works for Solo Instrument (other than piano) or Small Ensemble (up to ten instruments)
5. Works for Larger Ensemble, Orchestra, or Chamber Orchestra
Entries must be postmarked by November 3, 2007, and mailed to: Louise Canepa, Music Chair, 666 Wall Road, Napa, CA 94558.
Works, published or unpublished, should have been completed within the last seven years and may not previously have won an NLAPW award. The entry blank should be filled in and sent with entries, appropriate fee, and the following:
(1) a separate recording (CD or cassette) with each score
(2) a 3"x 5" card with title and category of each entry and your name and address. Your name
should not be on the scores.
Please follow instructions carefully to avoid disqualification. You may submit multiple entries. If entering works in more than one category, photocopy the entry blank before completing and use one copy per category. Only the title of the work should be on the score and the recording - not the composer's name. Place title on every page. If you are uncertain as to which category applies, please email LCanepa@aol.com.
Fees: $15 first entry, $10.00 each additional entry. Make payable to National League of American Pen Women, Inc. Please put number of categories entered in the memo area. Recording CD or cassette (required) to match each score exactly, with title on the label as it appears on the corresponding score. Mail scores, CDs or cassettes, check, entry blank(s), and 3"x 5" card postmarked by November 3, 2007, to: Louise Canepa, Music Chair, 666 Wall Road, Napa, CA 94558
Prizes will be determined by the total number of entries. Judges' decisions are final. Submissions will not be returned.
