Poem of the Week–Frustration

Frustration

How I have struggled.
Pen in hand poised above
a pristine sheet of parchment
or fingers stalled on the keyboard,
(today’s chosen mode of communication.)
Mind mired in whirling thoughts
unable to settle
upon one , just one
worthy sentiment
perfect to convey profound emotion
insightful, perhaps
to merit respect and attention
yet here I sit
nothing significant to warrant further attempt
so I move on.
There are other pending responsibilities.
I vow to struggle again tomorrow
because I must.
