Poem of the Week–Thomas

Remedy

Everyone tried to cure me
Great brown owl curooed
Curandera boiled herbs
Shaman spread colored sands
In ancient patterns
Drummers beat for
Seven humid nights
Circle dancing continued
Under crescent moons
Black leeches clamped my heart.
The healing began
When poetry piqued
My silver pen.
